Performance fabric (solution-dyed polyester or Crypton-treated) and full-grain aniline leather are the best choices for recliners in Indian humidity. Performance fabric repels liquid, resists mould, and maintains colour through humidity cycling. Full-grain aniline leather breathes, develops a patina, and is rated for 85% RH. Avoid bonded leather (peels in 3-5 years), standard cotton or linen (absorbs moisture), and velvet (difficult to clean). For vegetarian and Jain households, performance fabric is the recommended choice. SOISU uses artificial composite leather — not real leather and not PU.
Performance fabric (solution-dyed polyester) and full-grain aniline leather are the top choices. This specification is critical for Indian buyers because local conditions differ significantly from European standards for which most furniture is designed. When evaluating options in Indian showrooms, ask for these specifications in writing with supporting test certificates from the manufacturer.
Bonded and PU leather peel within 3-5 years in Indian humidity and should be avoided. For buyers in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and other Indian cities, verify these points with your supplier before purchase. Request the relevant material specification sheets and quality certificates. SOISU offers home measurement, technical drawings and 3D visualisation, and every order carries a signed drawing and specification.
